To Bid You Farewell, Chalkboard
Welcome back, folks! Today's topic is 21st-century learning. Teaching English used to be all about looking at grammar books and memorizing endless word lists. However, in 21st century it has evolved into something that requires engagement, collaboration and real-world skills. And let's be real, technology is the main part of it.
As a teacher candidate, I find this shift as a major learning glow-up! With the benefits of the technology, we'll be able to do much more than we've ever done in the history of teaching! Or maybe... just maybe we won't need to do as much as we did back in the days with the upcoming technologies. Technological improvements such as applications and AI tools reduced the need for manpower in education. SO, we have to be careful how we use technology ourselves and how we introduce it to our students.
This doesn't mean we should be oldschool instructors who don't let any technology into their classrooms. Being a teacher like that will only cause your students to fail in the future regarding technology use. Moreover, we wouldn't be efficient teachers in these years of technology. We would be nothing but a technology-illiterate dinosaurs.
Let me wrap it up. Technology integration in education is an exciting opportunity for us, future teachers. This means we should educate ourselves even after we graduate. By doing so, we can become successful teachers of the future. However, remember to use technology wisely and guide your students to do the same. We shouldn't let it replace us; instead, we should let it enhance what we do.
Tell me what y'all think about it! Can't wait to hear your thoughts!
Take care
