Caught in the Web? Stay Safe!

Hi, my dear fans! I hope you're all doing well and had a wonderful holiday with your families. Have you ever thought about how to protect yourself from online threats? Or wondered if it's possible to explain such an important topic in a fun and engaging way—like through an infographic?

Well, I did! And I had a great time doing it. Let me tell you all about my experience!

This project was part of our Instructional Technologies and Material Design in ELT course. I chose Safety and Privacy as my topic because it’s something everyone should be aware of in today’s digital world. My aim was to turn a serious topic into something both eye-catching and educational.

At first I used Venngage to create my infographic but I faced challenges citing my sources so I had to change it and used Canva instead. Canva has a lot of useful tools regarding EVERYTHING. You can make presentations, infographics, brochures, posters and more! Anyways, other than that I had no problems. Creating an infographic was both informative and amusing. I will definitely use it as homework with my future students.

You may wonder why I would do such a thing. The first reason is the infographics combine texts and images which makes it easier for students (especially visual learners) to understand it better. The second reason is that infographics shows informations in a clear and structured way. I think no one would disagree when I said it is way better than reading large blocks of text. The third reason is that it is more appealing for the students who were born into the technological era. Lastly, it encourages creativity and critical thinking. Students organize their thoughts and use their creativity while creating their infographics. Long story short, I will use it in my class and I think you should, too!

Let me show you my infographic about Safety and Privacy!
